Process and Outcomes
Fall 2007 - Summer 2008
Cohort I Wisconsin campus STAR teams (Student Teacher Assessment teams) were identified. Participating campuses include: Alverno College, Marian College, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, and UW-Whitewater.
Cohort I STAR teams will define tasks and processes under guidance of a consultant. Tasks will include reviewing existing student teaching assessments, identifying core math and science content to be assessed, and synthesizing common knowledge and skill core documents from campus documents.
Following this process, recommendations for the core knowledge and skills assessment design will be made.
Cohort II STAR, and potentially, some STAR III teams will be identified.
Fall 2008 - Summer 2009
STAR I teams will draft assessments and design the training protocol.
STAR I teams will pilot assessment during the 2008-09 academic year.
STAR II teams will provide input into common core document, assessments, and training protocol drafted by Cohort I.
STAR II teams will analyze field test data and submit results and conclusions to STAR I teams.
Cohort III STAR teams will be identified.
Fall 2009 - Summer 2010
STAR I and STAR II teams will implement a full academic year pilot of revised assessment prototypes and training protocol.
STAR III teams will analyze the data collected and share results with STAR I and STAR II teams.
STAR I, II, and III teams will collaborate to make recommendations for the final revisions to the assessment tool(s), training protocol, and data use processes.
Fall 2010 -
Assessment tool(s), training protocols, and data use processes will be implemented by all STAR campuses.
